$330

August 8th, 2014 at 07:55 pm

$330 is what I need to come up with. I really can't take it from savings. It would completely deplete us. So I have about a week to come up with it. That should be really difficult. Frown I have a $10.00 check from the city. I have a small check coming from Ebates....maybe about $13-$15. I am going to try to cut our grocery bill and use as many coupons as possible. So that may add up to $50 all together?? Where does the other $280 come from? Not pay down my debt? I have to pay something. And even if I reduce the payments, it won't add a whole lot. Maybe an extra $70? And then I will still have to come up with that to reach my goal of paying everything off by September. We had a garage sale, so I don't have a lot of extra stuff to sell. I can count change. I can't change insurance right now. We are in a rural area, so our utilities have to be specific companies. I'm running out of ideas. I'm salary, so no overtime at work. Our only entertainment portion of the budget is $20 for eating out...and I already got rid of that for 2 weeks to help with my budget. Any thoughts?

Do you have a large piece or pieces of furniture to sell? Even if something you wouldn't get rid of under normal circumstances it might be worth it for this goal. And I would reduce your payments to the minimum to avoid taking on more debt.

Are you in an area where biking would save you gas money? (if you have a bike or could borrow one) Opps. I reread that your rural so probably not. I'll leave this in for someone else reading. Can you carpool?

Definitely eat in and out of your pantry...get creative with ingredients. Put a gym membership on hold for a month or two, cancel cable, change to reduced service for cell phones for a month or two. In these case, I'm suggest you dip into the EF, but you would have a planned way to pay a portion back.

Know anyone who needs a babysitter this weekend, or pet watched or walked this week?

Take in some used books, movies and dvds for cash...they don't fetch a lot, but maybe every little counts in this case.

Scrounge your closets for anything you may have purchased in the last 90 days that you could return. I personally have a pair of workout pants I need to return which would fetch me $15.

If I think of other ideas, I will let you know! Good luck.

Can one of your siblings cover your shortfall until you can pay them for it?

Rena, does your area pay to recycle cans, do you have any that could get you some change? What services could you provide friends and family in exchange for cash? Clean their home or car? Do you have any skills you could teach, such as sewing or knitting?

It would definitely deplete your savings, but how urgently does this bill you need to pay? Is it possible to get some kind of deferrment? Or make payments that you and the other part agree upon based on what you can afford to pay? Is it possible for you to make any meals out of what you already have in your cupboards and fridge? Then, use the money you would have normally used on groceries to pay your bill. Sell books on cash4books.net. Just enter the isbn and they tell you instantly whether they will buy it. They pay shipping.

If all else fails, you can draw what is needed from your savings and then set up automatic transfers to replace the amount taken out. Just some ideas to consider.

Hmm--any swagbucks to cash out? Gone through coat pockets and old purses?

Is this for the headstone? It should not require full payment until delivery. Any chance you could post pone you missing money until delivery?
