Technically I am out of CC Debt...

July 2nd, 2015 at 02:28 pm

I paid off my last credit card today. But, I still owe the money. I took a "loan" from our tax savings account and paid it off. I was tired of looking at it. I didn't want any more interest, so I just did it. I'll have us back paid back in a few weeks. So, although I still technically owe it, it still feels good. It will feel even better in a few weeks when its really done.

I can understand why that feels better. Now you owe yourself the money...which I think will feel like a stronger pull to pay back! It would for me!

The good thing is that I set up auto transfers for the payments. So it will be paid back and I won't have to think or worry about it. And I can't make excuses why I can't transfer the money.

What a creative way of ridding yourself of CC debt. Automatic transfers back to tax savings is compelling, Would you find it helpful to wrap an elastic band around each CC to remind you how much you've paid in interest charges in the past 12 months? Good on you to have cleared balances from all CC!

Are you saving for a quarterly tax or annual?

Nice plan to auto transfer to pay back...I should do that for paying ourselves back if I still fall short replacing money borrowed from savings with the work reimbursement.

That counts. You paid off your debt. You just need to build up your investments now.
