Its like hitting yourself with the bat as you hit a homerun

Was feeling EXCELLENT....
I went ahead and almost paid off all of Credit Card number 3. I have about $60.00 bucks left and I will pay that off next week. Awesome!
Brought our saving account up to over 3K. ( Yes, I know some people think I should use that money and pay off the debt, but that is not our plan for several different reasons.)
So....I'm swinging for the fences....knocking it out of the park....and BAM!

I live in DFW Texas and we were hit with some pretty bad weather. And we didn't think about it, but my husband was parked at one of the airports that got hit. Sooooo....we have to do an insurance claim on his truck. So I'm sure we will have to pay a deductible or pay for repairs or some sort of money costing something. So I feel like I hit myself with the bat as I hit that homerun. I don't know much about insurance or claims or how they work, so I don't know what to expect.

See what the insurance claims adjuster has to say after you contact the company, and that will lead to the next step. You are doing great, and the weather is a bit out of your control! Good luck getting things fixed up...

Did your husband's car get hail damage? Is it a newer car where fixing that would really do any good? Or is it an older model with plenty of wear and tear ... (like mine!)?

I'm in DFW as well, and drove home Tuesday night through 30 minutes of varying size hail. Hail damage on my 97 Honda Civic just adds to the character of my car. Big Grin

Good luck getting back. If it makes you feel any better, without any savings it would be like hitting yourself with the bat in the middle of the freeway and get hit by a car as you fall. Smile

It can take patience and persistence to work through a claim. Read the policy so you understand what will be covered and what will not + deductibles. No matter how annoying the representative might be, it's important to keep your cool, smile, be pleasant but firm and keep repeating what you want to resolve the issue and complete the claim.

Great you are safe and have an Emergency Fund
