Insulted....or maybe just hurt

Well...someone decided to post on my blog that I post about nothing useful. Wow....

My blog entries may not be the most interesting to everyone, but its useful to me. It keeps me accountable and helps keep me on track. And we are all on here to learn and better ourselves. So why did you waste your time commenting?

So I am slightly insulted. Because I don't think its that bad. And more so, it kind of hurt my feelings. I'm just trying to gain financial freedom.

    What? That is ridiculously rude. As well as untrue. Just look at your stats--you've had 9000 visits in 5 months and average 3 comments for every one post. If no one found it useful, they wouldn't bother commenting.

    We don't get many haters in this blog community, but it happens. Just ignore them and delete the comment. That's what I do! I don't mind criticism, but I won't take unhelpful meanness.

    Um ... go check out my blog posts - the latest ones lamenting that I'm lonely because my kids are in school all day (though I did throw in a monetary fact so I didn't appear to be crying "poor me"). Ignore - delete - move on! I read every single post, though I don't comment on all. Have a good one and continue to write about whatever you find interesting or documenting!

    This is your blog, so you can write anything at all you please. No one is obliged to read it. If anyone finds it "not useful", they are free to move along and read something else.

    I agree! Ignore, delete and don't let the comments of one bad person turn you off of blogging. I too read every post but just don't always comment. As long as it is relevant to you, keep posting!

    Keep on blogging, Rena. Comments on a blog post is frosting - the real cake of these blogs is that you are putting your feelings, goals, issues, successes, setbacks, etc on virtual paper where you can be accountable to them.

    There is one person who regularly puts a negative comment in my blog (& others). I always delete them, and I don't think they even notice (they aren't the argumentative/troll type - just the "negative nelly/nothing useful to add" type).

    But yeah, quietly deleting them is the way to go. If you engage them, the trolls won't go away!

    It has happened to many of us from time to time. I also delete those that aren't helpful to me or others. Keep on posting what you need to say!

    If it is useful to you to blog then it is of great value. What is useful to one person may not be useful to another, but that certainly isn't your problem. Sometimes I think I am boring people to death with some of my posts, but then I remember blogging is what keeps my head on straight about money and that is the most useful thing in the world. Don't let one rude person put you off.

    I'm with the others - ignore it or delete it and move on. It is your blog and is for you - whatever you need it to be. If others read it and make comments, great! If not, well, no loss - you still are getting what you need.

    Thanks everybody! I did delete it. It was just the first super negative comment I had gotten. Thanks for the encouragement....I shall continue to blog. Smile

    If that was your first ever negative comment -- after more than 9000 visits in the past 5 months -- than that alone should lead you to feel pretty great! Just delete the rudeness and move onward, you are doing a great job. There just is no insurance against the jerks invading every once or a while...
