Money in.....money out

January 25th, 2013 at 02:53 pm

Well, its payday. I took the $7.00 I had left from last week and sent it to a credit card. Our mortgage is due, and this month starts the reduced amount. The reduced amount is because of our escrow and insurance and blah blah blah. But we are going to go ahead and pay over. So that is going out. And after paying our utilities with the overages, I managed to put just a little bit into savings. Some is better than none, right? All said and done, I have $31 to last the week.

You may have addressed this before, so sorry if I missed it. When you pay over on the mortgage, are you going to send a letter to the lender asking them to apply it to principal only?

Hey, what do you know... sometimes escrow and insurance can actually work in your favor! Smile Good for you on just sending in the normal amount, that will lead to headway on the principal. I think scfr's idea is a good one, just to make sure they do it the right way.
