Hump Day Check In

Well, I have done pretty good. Although I think next week will be hard, especially since I need to budget in Mother's Day.


So far I still have the following in cash:
$20.00 - from pet sitting
$2.00 - left of my $22.00 for fuel
$2.00 - Leftover from week before
$20.00 - left of the $40.00 I had for dining out.


I also saw that I have an Ebates check coming. I think it is for about $11.00. I plan to send that to CC#3.

    Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 12. Do you get paid on Friday? I went in with my sister for flowers, my maximum amount is $20.

    Yes, payday is Friday. So I shuffled around and came up with $20.

    My mom passed away several years ago but she disliked going to a restaurant on Mother's Day as it felt too hectic, crowded and the noise level made conversation impossible. My brothers and I hosted a 'Mothers & Others' brunch at her house. We made those egg strata casseroles the night before, french toast, Rice Krispie squares, fruit salad, tea & coffee.

    Over the years it morphed into an Open House for ladies who lived near-by [mostly widows] whose child no longer lived nearby. It was a hoot. The ladies all told funny stories about their kids and mischief and made new friends.

    My sisters and I are planting my mom a surprise herb garden and doing a surprise lunch. My 2 sisters are splitting the garden supplies and the steaks and I am providing the sides and dessert. So I think I have just about enough budgeted to do baked potatoes, a veggie, and maybe some brownies. $20 isn't much but I have to make it work! It will be tight for 6 people!
