Disappointment in missing a goal

March 12th, 2014 at 07:41 pm

I originally had planned on paying off CC #2 because it has an annual fee....and I really didn't want to pay $79. Well, I didn't pay it off. And now I am stuck paying the $79. So, I am disappointed that it didn't happen. On a brighter note, CC #1 is down to $77. CC #3 is down to $184. I should still be able to pay it all off by September. That thought is what keeps me going. It will feel so nice to be done with CC debt. I just have to keep trying.

I plan on trying to have a garage sale at the end of the month. I have quite a bit of stuff. Plus I still need to go through stuff. I just feel so busy. Sometimes I just want to do.... "nothing." Smile But I am trying to be positive and stay grateful. My $730.60 in credit card debt is less than a lot of people's. Maybe I can use some garage sale money to knock it out even faster.

I'm sure that is disappointing. I would want to be rid of the annual fee card ASAP too! Plan to put ALL your garage sale money towards the cards...not just maybe. For me that would motivate me to find lots of things to purge! Smile

Have you called them to ask to waive the fee? It never hurts to ask!

CCF - part of the money has to go towards tires. But I will do as much as possible!
CB - Unfortunately I had them waive it last year so they won't waive it again. Frown Bummer huh?

Why not just close the card?

You should be able to close the card to avoid paying the annual fee and then just pay it off as normal

If you close that card, then there is no annual fee (normally). That said, use the old "hey, if you don't waive this fee, I am going to close the card and transfer the balance"....line.

As stated above - Pretty sure if you close the card within 30 or 60 days of the fee they remove it.

You can close the card AND still contine to make payments... It is not as if you must pay it off in order to close it. Smile
